From San Antonio
Take Interstate 10 west to Boerne, about 15 miles. Take Exit 540 and turn left onto Highway 46 west. Go 12 miles to Highway 16 north. Go 12 miles on Highway 16 north into the town of Bandera. Turn left at the light onto 173 south. Go only a quarter mile and turn right onto Ranch Road 1077. Go 10 miles and turn right onto Hay Hollar Rd. Rancho Cortez is about a mile down this gravel road.
Or, take Interstate 10 west to Loop 1604. Take 1604 west to Bandera Rd/Highway 16 north. Go about 32 miles on Highway 16 north into the town of Bandera. Turn left at the light onto 173 south. Go only a quarter mile and turn right onto Ranch Road 1077. Go 10 miles and turn right onto Hay Hollar Rd. Rancho Cortez is about a mile down this gravel road.
NOTE: Do NOT use Yahoo Map Quest or Google Maps for directions! If you give the physical address of Rancho Cortez, the directions on Map Quest will not get you to Rancho Cortez! Please print the directions above to get here. If you have a GPS system in your car, do NOT give our physical address -- "872 Hay Hollar Road" does not show up on a GPS system, and your system will pick the "nearest" alternative, which may send you somewhere in the middle of the Hill Country State Natural Area Park! However, you can enter "Bandera, Texas" in your GPS system and you will be guided into Bandera. Once in Bandera, refer to the directions above or do it the old-fashioned way and stick to a trusty, Texas road map! Also, you will have limited cell phone usage once you turn onto Ranch Road 1077, and virtually no cell phone usage once you get to the Ranch! If you need to call us, do so before you get too far down the road on 1077!
